April 27, 2014 started as any other day. However by the end of the day, 418 homes around Central Arkansas became damaged when a EF4 tornado ripped across the land leaving mass destruction in its path. 16 people died. Many were without food and water. Some only survived with the clothes on their backs. Volunteers came from everywhere to donate what they collected, their time in helping to clean up the debris or just help anyway they could. United Way came to the call. We provided a way for Garland County residents to reach out and help our fellow Arkansans by collecting donations and taking them to the Viliona and Conway collection sites. We took three trailer loads of food, clothing, medicine, personal items, water, baby items, and even household goods to help support our neighbors.
