Author Stephanie Thompson discusses Loving Yourself and Overcoming Adversity.

Stephanie Thompson earned a B.S. in psychology and an M.Ed. in Mental Health Counseling from Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, Arkansas. She was born and raised in Emerson, Arkansas. She served in the U.S. Airforce shortly after graduating high school. She received many awards and commendations for her military service. She served overseas in the first Gulf War, helping to build and maintain a field hospital. Following her military service, she attended college as a single parent and worked part-time. After she earned her master's degree and passed her state licensure exams, she worked as a counselor in outpatient and residential settings. She has also worked as a program coordinator for at-risk college students and later as the executive director of a child advocacy center.

She founded Thompson Consulting, a professional development consulting firm, in 2007. She is currently a full-time writer of fiction and non-fiction that emphasize personal and professional development. She enjoys cooking and long walks. She is married with two children. She currently resides in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
